IBPA’s Publishing University can help your company connect face-to-face with independent publishers who will gather in beautiful San Francisco in March 2012 to learn how to publish better and sell more print and e-books.

Since 1983, the mission of 3,000-member Independent Book Publishers Association (formerly PMA) has centered on education of both emerging and experienced publishers—how to start, grow, and run a profitable business.

After hearing from members and vendors for years that they wished PubU could be moved out of hot and humid summertime New York, IBPA has moved its flagship educational event to cool and brisk San Francisco in March 2012.

Talk about a change!

However, what will not change will be the top-notch line up of industry professionals educating IBPA members on the best tools and practices in the ever-changing publishing landscape.

So now is the time to join the industry’s premiere vendors of all manner of products and services and head on out West for a day and one-half of seminars, meals and opportunities to meet and educate IBPA members in person to how you can deliver what they need to stay in front of business.

Vendor sponsors will be anchored by a tabletop exhibit area near the Registration Tables and ample gathering space in and around break out session rooms.

 

Event Overview

For over 20 years IBPA’s Publishing University has been the association’s flagship event for bringing publishing education to the industry.

The event offers:

  • Multiple educational sessions presented by industry experts.
  • A day and a half of education, allowing vendors to concentrate their efforts with the attendees.
  • Numerous networking opportunities, including an exhibit hall, daily continental breakfast, nightly reception, keynote speaker and luncheon.
  • Attendance that has averaged 250 over the past 5 years

Event Objectives

  • To educate emerging and advanced publishers about the business of publishing through a series of expert-led seminars, discussions and other events
  • To enable attendees to learn from one another through one-on-one networking
  • To present up-to-the minute tools and technologies that enable publishers to work more effectively and efficiently in a way they can understand and use

Event Organizer

The Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA) has been supporting and educating the independent publishing community for 27 years through cooperative marketing programs, educational events and industry advocacy.

IBPA’s Publishing University has been held annually since 1989 and educated thousands of publishers over the years.
